quotes to inspire for young adults or recent graduates!

Here are some of my favorite quotes that I love to look at once and a while– they always bring my mood up and help me think a little deeper about my day and purpose. These are the quotes I found in my bullet journal that pertain more to recent graduates or anyone trying to discern what their “life’s purpose” is. Soon I will do a post on my favorite bible versions / sections to study. Hope you enjoy!

for an endless

“I’m an idealist. I don’t know where I am going but I’m on my way” – Carl Sandburg

“You’ll never change your life until you change something you do daily. The secret of your success is found in your daily routine” – John C. Maxwell

“Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving” – Albert Einstein

“I believe success is achieved by ordinary people with extraordinary determination” – Zig Ziglar

“Doubt kills more dreams than failure ever will” – Karim Seddiki

“Intelligence without ambition is a bird without wings” – Salvador Dali

“Hardships often prepare ordinary people for an extraordinary destiny” – C.S. Lewis

“Your power belongs exclusively to what you know the truth of in your heart” – John de Ruiter

“Do what you have to do until you can do what you want to do” – Oprah Winfrey

“You will touch this joy and you will suddenly know it is what you were looking for your whole life, but you were afraid to even acknowledge the absence because the hunger for it was so encompassing” – Eve Ensler

My favorite commencement address quotes:

“Sometimes you find out what you are supposed to be doing by doing the things you are not supposed to do” – Oprah Winfrey to Howard University in 2007

“And how do you know when you’re doing something right? How do you know that? It feels so. What I know now is that feelings are really your GPS system for life. When you’re supposed to do something or not supposed to do something, your emotional guidance system lets you know. The trick is to learn to check your ego at the door and start checking your gut instead” – Oprah Winfrey to Stanford University in 2008

“You get to consciously decide what has meaning and what doesn’t. You get to decide what to worship” – David Foster Wallace to Kenyon College in 2005

“Thankfully dreams can change. If we’d all stuck with our first dream, the world would be overrun with cowboys and princesses. So whatever your dream is right now, if you don’t achieve it, you haven’t failed, and you’re not some loser. But just as importantly—and this is the part I may not get right and you may not listen to—if you do get your dream, you are not a winner” – Stephen Colbert to Northwestern in 2011

AND here is a bonus #petty one:

“A great pleasure in life is doing what people say you cannot do” – Walter Bagehot
